God Is Still In Control

I am enjoying a very relaxing and restful Sunday. While in my “easy like Sunday morning” mindset God reminded me that in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic and the accompanying panic and chaos; HE IS STILL IN CONTROL! This didn’t catch Him off guard.
Besides following all the necessary hygiene and safety precautions He gave me 4 strategies to keep my Spirit, Soul and Body strong.

1.) REST - especially my Type A, hustle til I die, grind til I lose my mind, Martha mindset friends. Rest! Your business, job, Church or ministry will run just fine. And guess what...a little rest will give you new clarity on what you’re doing.
(Hebrews 4:9-10)
“So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world”.
2.) SHARPEN YOUR AXE - sometimes it seems that we’re working harder for diminishing returns. We’re spinning our wheels and like the proverbial hamster on the treadmill we aren’t getting anywhere. It might be because we allowed our busy lifestyles rob us of what’s more important; our relationship with God. During this time sharpen your axe by praying, reading the Word with meditation and obedience. We’ll find that our plans when directed by Holy Spirit require way less effort to succeed.
If you’re quarantined turn off the news, read some good books, exercise and eat right. Our minds and bodies will thank us.
(Ecclesiastes 10:10)
“Using a dull ax requires great strength,
so sharpen the blade.
That’s the value of wisdom;
it helps you succeed”.
3.) BE A LIGHT TO THE WORLD - as Christians the world looks to us for leadership. If we’re operating from a place of fear and panic it is an extremely poor testimony of our faith in God. Fear definitely comes from the enemy because God gave us a spirit of power, love and a sound mind.
(2 Timothy 1:7)
“For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment”.
Realizing and believing this scripture allows us to operate from a position of strength instead of panic. And it opens doors for us to share Jesus!
(Matthew 5:14-16)
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
4.) REMEMBER - GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL!
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take”.
