Ball of Confusion

Hello everyone

! This is the day God has made so let’s rejoice and be glad (Psalm 118:24).

Let’s do a little icebreaker:

“Racism is like a ball of confusion propelled by ignorance, fear, pride and hatred. And like a snowball rolling down the side of a snow covered hill...it’s growing”.

That statement contains lyrics from two popular songs that a Motown group sang in the 60’s and early 70”s.

Name the group, songs and year the songs came out! There will be a small prize to the winners (very small 😂🤣😁).

On a more serious note it’s IMPOSSIBLE to love God and practice racism at the same time! There isn’t ANY justification.

(1 John 4:20-21)

If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For the person who does not love his brother he has seen cannot love the God he has not seen. And we have this command from Him: The one who loves God must also love his brother.

If you’re wondering who is your brother God made that plain as well - (please take time to read these scriptures).

(Luke 10:25-37)

“Just then an expert in the law stood up to test Him, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

“What is written in the law?” He asked him. “How do you read it?”

He answered:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.

“You’ve answered correctly,” He told him. “Do this and you will live.”

But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

Jesus took up the question and said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him, beat him up, and fled, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down that road. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. In the same way, a Levite, when he arrived at the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan on his journey came up to him, and when he saw the man, he had compassion. He went over to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on olive oil and wine. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said, ‘Take care of him. When I come back I’ll reimburse you for whatever extra you spend.’

“Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”

“The one who showed mercy to him,” he said.

Then Jesus told him, “Go and do the same.”

As a nation we’re on a slippery slope and until we start preaching and practicing reconciliation, we’ll be like that “ball of confusion” I mentioned earlier.

(2 Corinthians 5:18-19)

“Everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us”.

We ARE one!

From ONE man He has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live.

(Revelation 7:9-10)

“After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were robed in white with palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:

Salvation belongs to our God,

who is seated on the throne,

and to the Lamb”!
